Marie Bowser Hill

MARIE BOWSER HILL, age 90, of Abingdon, MD, died on May 22, 2008 at Lorien Nursing and Rehabilitation in Bel Air, MD. Born December 9, 1917 in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Patrick Frank Mulligan and the late Rose Anna Stewart Mulligan Kronyager, and wife of the late James C. Hill. She married Ray Van Lear Bowser in 1935 and raised her family in Joppa, MD, then moved to Port St. Lucie, FL where she resided for about 37 years. She was widowed during that time and then met her second husband, James Conrad Hill whom she married in 1993. She moved back to Abingdon three years ago to be with her family. In her earlier years, she worked at Glen L. Martin, retiring in 1971 when she moved to Florida. During her time there, she was very active in her community and taught aerobics at the Community Center in Port Lucie. She played in several pinochle and canasta card clubs, and belonged to a swim aerobics team and the Port St. Lucie Seniors Follies Travel Dance Group. She enjoyed painting with water colors and charcoal, as well as, playing the organ.

Mrs. Hill is survived by a daughter, Donarae Bowser Moulsdale and her husband, Skip, of Abingdon, MD; three grandchildren, Gary Moulsdale and his wife, Shelly, of Bel Air, MD, S. Keith Moulsdale and his wife, Kathy, of Ghana, Africa, and Christopher Moulsdale and his wife, Caroline, of Hockessin, DE; and seven great-grandchildren, Shayne, Bailey, and Zack Moulsdale of Bel Air, MD, Megan and Ella Moulsdale of Ghana, Africa, and Tristan and Isabelle Moulsdale of Hockessin, DE.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was predeceased by one son, Ray Van Lear Bowser Jr.; three brothers, J. Earl Mulligan, Gene Mulligan, and Rev. Tom Mulligan; and two sisters, Rose Mulligan Rapp and Blanch Crouch.
