Marie A. Shine (nee Ulsch), age 93, of Bel Air, MD passed away on August 31, 2013 at Brightview Assisted Living in Bel Air, MD. Born in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Bresnick Ulsch and wife of the late Phillip Louis Shine. She had worked as a meat wrapper for the Pantry Pride grocery store and was a member of the United Food & Commercial Workers International Union, AFL-CIO-CLC, Local #117. She was known for her Sour Beef and enjoyed playing bingo, going on bus trips and eating crabs.
Mrs. Shine is survived by her daughter, Phyllis M. Nickel and husband, Albert G. Nickel Jr. of Bel Air; sister Margaret Boles of Joppatowne; three grandchildren, Jeffrey D. Nickel of Parkville, Scott C. Nickel of White Hall and Jacqueline M. Tucker of East Troy, WI; five great-grandchildren, Quinn A. Nickel, Rose K. Nickel, Karianne Voight, Aaron Voight and Sarah Neihus; and one great-great-grandson, Oliver Voight. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Claire J. Sullivan, brothers, Joseph and Alfred Ulsch, and longtime companion H. Gary Rohrbaugh.
