Maria “Haydee” Ramos (nee Lazu), Beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on May 9, 2024, at the age of 89 in Bel Air, Maryland. Maria was born November 5, 1934, in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico. She was the devoted wife of the late Samuel Ramos, Sr.
Maria, known to her loved ones as Haydee, was a devoted matriarch who cherished her family above all else. She is survived by her daughters, Lillian Chevere and Elsie Delgado, her son Samuel Ramos, Jr.; brother, Antonio "Toni" Lazu; along with 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life.
In addition to her family, Maria found solace and joy in her hobbies. She was an avid gardener, finding particular delight in cultivating vegetables and tending to her favorite trees and shrubs, the Crepe Myrtle and the Rose of Sharon. Maria’s green thumb extended to her love for planting tomatoes, green peppers, eggplants, and cucumbers each spring. She also had a passion for collecting clay mallard ducks and delighted in cooking for her family and friends.
Maria was predeceased by 3 brothers.
Maria’s dedication to her family and hobbies was matched by her faith. She found spiritual fulfillment at LA Luz del Mundo, Iglesia Cristiana Asamblea de Dios, and Grace Assembly of God.
