Maria (Mari) Luisa Mercado

MARIA “MARI” LUISA MERCADO, age 63, of Manchester, MD, formerly of Churchville, MD, died on June 7, 2006 at her home. Born in Manila, The Philippines, she was the daughter of Julia D. Barretto of Havre de Grace, MD and the late Jose Ramos Barretto. She was office manager for Orthopedic Associates in Havre de Grace, MD until recently. She worked for the United Nations before her marriage in 1967. She spent the past 10 years traveling and enjoying her family. She also enjoyed cooking and gardening.

Mrs. Mercado is survived by her husband, Roberto I. Mercado; three sons, Ron T. Mercado of Manchester, MD, Robert J. Mercado of Churchville, MD and Raymond A. Mercado of Forest Hill, MD; two adopted daughters, Jenelyn Lamaslig and Maricel Lamaslig, both of Manchester, MD; four brothers, Dr. Albert S. Barretto of The Villages, FL, Alfredo S. Barretto of Manila, The Philippines, Augusto D. Barretto of Havre de Grace, MD and Antonio D. Barretto of San Mateo, CA; two sisters, Amelia B. Claudio of San Juan, The Philippines and Alicia B. Fermin of San Jose, CA; two grandchildren, Maritza Sophia Mercado of Forest Hill, MD and Patrick Nash-Mercado of Manchester, MD; and cousins, Lourdes Morada of Havre de Grace, MD, Manolita Ocampo of Westport, CT and Ador Soriano of London, England.
