In Loving Memory of Margie R. Campbell, age 70, of Joppa, MD peacefully went home to be with her Lord and Savior on January 25, 2016 at Seasons Hospice at Franklin Square in Rosedale, MD while surrounded by her family.
Margie was the fourth of twelve children born to Elmer Lawrence Francis and Betty Pearl (Cole) Beall in Bristol, TN on August 7, 1945. She moved to Maryland in 1959, where she met the love of her life and husband, Richard D. Campbell. She shared 47 years of marriage with Richard, with whom she was together for a total of 57 years. Together they raised their son, Brian A. Campbell, and cared for numerous foster children in need.
Margie was a member of Salem United Methodist Church. She retired from Franklin Square Hospital after 35 years of service where she had worked as a unit secretary. She enjoyed camping with the entire family, bowling, cross-stitch, collecting Precious Moments. She was known for her amazing cooking and sweet nature, but most of all her pride in her family.
Surviving in addition to her husband, their son and daughter-in-law, Brian A. and Lilian Campbell of Perry Hall; six grandchildren, Brian Campbell II (Mary Booth), Joshua Campbell (Amanda Vogtman), Kristen Campbell, Alyssa Campbell, Ian Campbell and Izabella Campbell; and one great-granddaughter, Charlotte Campbell-Booth; three brothers, Wayne Francis, Lawrence Francis and Gary Francis-Verbeelen; five sisters, Juanita Hess, Mary Sue Erickson, Carol Sampson, Rosemary Bernier and Jo Ann Roland; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Jimmy Francis and Joseph Francis; and sister, Virginia Eller.
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life Service will be held in early spring at Salem United Methodist Church in Bradshaw, MD and will be posted when a date is finalized.
