Margaret-Mary G. LoPresti was born in Highland Falls, NY on November 4, 1927. The daughter of Elizabeth and Joseph Graber, she was educated at Sacred Heart Elementary School and graduated from Ladycliff Academy and from Ladycliff College in Highland Falls, NY in 1949, with a BA in English. She received her Masters in Elementary Education from New Paltz State Teacher's College, New Paltz, NY. After graduation from Ladycliff, Margaret-Mary taught at Stony Point Elementary School, Stony Point, NY, followed by four years at the USMA Elementary School, West Point, NY. She retired in 1986 from the Cornwall Central School District after almost thirty years.
Margaret-Mary and husband Salvatore (Sam), who she married in 1952, retired to Seven Lakes, NC from Cornwall, NY, and then in 1988 moved to Churchville, MD. She was a member of the; New York State Teacher's Retirement System; the Catholic Daughter's of America for over thirty years; St. Anthony of Padua Woman's Club; the Church Women United of Moore County; and Sandhills Interfaith Hospitality Network.
Margaret-Mary is survived by her husband, Salvatore (Sam); son, Dr. Peter LoPresti and his wife, Shari; and granddaughters, Kate and Olivia. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by a son, James Joseph, in 1975; and a sister, Patricia D'Onofrio.
