Margaret B. Smelser

Margaret B. Smelser, age 95, of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2024. Born in Chesterfield, South Carolina, she was the beloved daughter of the late Clarence and Winnie (Streater) Wellmann and the cherished wife of the late David Smelser, Sr.

Margaret was a devoted member of Grandview Christian Church, where she actively participated in the women's Bible Study and the hospitality committee, sharing her warmth and kindness with all. She had a long and fulfilling career, retiring from Michael Warehousing many years ago, and continued to work at Bright Star Printing until just eight months ago.

In her leisure time, Margaret enjoyed crocheting, ceramics, and painting, often creating beautiful pieces that brought joy to her family and friends. Her creative spirit and gentle nature will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will forever resonate in the hearts of those she touched.

Margaret is survived by her brother, Charles Wellman of Catonsville, MD, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Margaret was preceded in death by sons David Benton Smelser Jr., and Kevin Bruce Smelser.
