Margaret Rose Rush, 70, of 1721 Chrisemmett Court, Forest Hill, MD, died Sunday afternoon, December 6, 2020 at UM Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD following an unexpected medical emergency. Margaret was fortunate to have been with family at the time of her passing.
Born April 14, 1950 in Philadelphia, PA, to James and Margaret (Thomas) McCauley she was the fourth child and second daughter to the couple who went on to have three more boys. Margaret went on to marry (later divorced) and have three children of her own.
Margaret is survived by her sister Susan Santoro, brothers Frank, Eugene, and Michael McCauley, her children, James (Tamera) Rush, Anne (William) Smith, and Dennis (Christa) Rush, 10 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Margaret was pre-deceased by her father, James, mother, Margaret, and brothers James and Dennis.
Margaret was fierce in her devotion to her children and grandchildren and embodied the spirit of The Giving Tree in her willingness to sacrifice for them. Margaret raised her three children as a single mother, juggling career and caretaking with help from her beloved mother Margaret and brothers and sister. She provided a loving home and educational opportunities for her children through her sacrifice, commitment, and dedication to her children. In her later years, Margaret enjoyed traveling, sports (Ravens and Arsenal F.C.), and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held privately for the family on Friday, December 11 at McComas Funeral Home in Bel Air, MD and at Holy Cross Cemetery in Yeadon, PA where she will be laid to rest with her mother, father, and brother Dennis.
