MARGARET J. MARCELLO, age 75, of Bel Air, died at her home on September 11, 2004. Born in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of the late Angelo and Margherita Triunfo Iacobuzio and the wife of the late John R. Marcello.
Margaret was a devoted wife and mother, dedicated to her family and a long term career of public services in many capacities. As the wife of an United States Army Officer, she often chaired and participated in the Army Wives Clubs wherever her husband, John, was stationed, active also in the PTA wherever their children were being schooled at the time. She frequently volunteered as a “gray lady” for various medical and dental clinics associated with the Armed Forces along the way.
In later years as John neared retirement from the Army, Margaret became politically active in the Republican Party of Maryland and for many years thereafter was instrumental in the election of various representatives, locally, as well as State and Federal in campaigning and fundraising in all facets of the process.
She will be sorely missed by family and friends.
Mrs. Marcello is survived by two sons, John R. Marcello, Jr. of Cambridge, Maryland; Douglas P. Marcello of Cambridge, Maryland; one brother, Michael Iacobuzio of Brooklyn, New York; three sisters, Ann Haavig of Tom’s River, New Jersey; Rose Bratcher of Tom’s River, New Jersey; and Helen Mecca of Minneola, Florida.
