Margaret "Sis" Archer Rutledge, age 89, of Bel Air, MD, died on March 4, 2010 at Forest Hill Health and Rehabilitation Center in Forest Hill, MD. Born in Bel Air, MD, she was the daughter of the late Francis Trainor and Alice Elizabeth Monks Archer, and wife of the late Wilbur Thomas Rutledge.
Mrs. Rutledge is survived by her sisters, Mary Phillips of Forest Hill, MD and Lillian Scheppelmann of Havre de Grace, MD; grandchildren, Travis Terrence Rutledge of Crofton, MD, Shannon Renee Rutledge and Tad Michael Rutledge, both of Glen Burnie, MD; and daughter-in-law, Rita Sparr Rutledge of Severna Park, MD. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son, William Thomas Rutledge, her brother, Winfield Archer, and her sisters, Adelaide Coale and Rhoda Abshire. "Aunt Sis" is survived by many nephews and nieces, her wonderful Shepherd, Nancy Karwatka, and her devoted friend, Betty Hartsock.
She had worked as a grocery clerk at Main Street Market and Hickory Mart, and was a member of Bel Air United Methodist Church, Bel Air United Methodist Women, Emmorton Grange, Bel Air Women of the Moose and Bel Air Golden Age Club. She enjoyed playing cards and dominoes with family and friends.
