MARGARET A. PETRICK, age 82, of Bel Air, MD, died on October 7, 2007 at University of Maryland Hospital, Baltimore, MD. Born in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Frank William Krebs Sr. and Maria Hannah Schwarz Krebs, and wife of the late Paul Joseph Petrick. A Harford County resident since 1948, she was a registered nurse, graduating from John Hopkins School of Nursing, and held a 2nd Degree in Gerontology. She was employed by Fallston Memorial Hospital for many years and was very involved with the Harford County Department of Aging. From the 1950’s to the 1970’s, she worked in her husband’s business, Evershield Products in Joppa, which pioneered fiberglass and plastics for marine and architectural applications. Upon her husband’s retirement, they opened Joppa Indoor Tennis in the late 1970’s. She was known by her friends and family as an avid quilter, reader, and walker. Her entrepreneurial efforts included selling baked goods and crafts at the Bel Air Farmers Market. She was an accomplished and published poet and author, writing short stories and essays about family and life’s journeys and many of her works were published locally.
Mrs. Petrick is survived by two sons, Mark Thomas Petrick and his wife, Ellen, of Bel Air, MD, and Carl Joseph Petrick and his wife, Robin, of Tallahassee, FL; one daughter, Christina Katherine Siegel and her husband, Charles, of Millers Island, MD; one brother, Grason Krebs and his wife, Leona, of Fallston, MD; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandson. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, Paul John Petrick, and two brothers, Frank W. Krebs Jr. and Albert Krebs.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Casimir Catholic Church on Kenwood Avenue in Baltimore, MD at a later date.
