M. Eugene "Gene" Streett, age 94, of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2025, at his home. Born in Bel Air, he was the son of the late Richard Harold Streett and Ruby Belle (Thomas) Streett and the beloved husband of the late Maryterese Catherine (Ryan) Streett.
Gene was a pillar of the Bel Air community and a life member of the Bel Air Rotary Club. He was also a longtime member of the Maryland Pharmacists Association and the Bel Air Merchants Association. For 75 years, he owned and operated Boyd & Fulford Drugs in Bel Air, retiring in 2019 after decades of service to the town he loved.
A proud graduate of Bel Air High School, where he served as the 1948 class president, Gene went on to graduate from the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy in 1952. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Gene was known for his love of home improvement projects, cars, and tinkering around the house. He was a man who cherished his tools, his cars, and the satisfaction of a well-completed project.
Gene played an active role in his community's traditions, including participating in the first Bel Air Fourth of July parade with his float and helping to place Christmas lights in downtown Bel Air for many years.
Gene is survived by his sons, Chris (Maureen) Streett, Eugene Streett (Christina Stevens), and Jonathan (Audrey) Streett; daughter-in-law Cheryl L. Streett; and his cherished grandchildren, Emma, Julia, Olivia, Rebecca, Thomas, and Mitchell, step grandchildren Amanda, Brandon and Ella.
