Lyman "Dutch" Meyer, age 78, of Bel Air, MD, passed away on November 7, 2011 at Bel Air Health and Rehabilitation in Bel Air, MD. Born in Moselem Springs, PA, he was the son of the late Lyman William and Elda Mae Kantner Meyer. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he had worked 23 years for Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, later working, for 15 years, at Kunkel Service Center. A resident of Harford County since 1972, he was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Aberdeen. He was also a member of the Historical Society of Harford County, the Scottish Rite, Har-Ce Forest Tall Cedars Lodge # 142, and was a 32nd Degree Mason. He was a past member of the Citizens Advisory Board for Harford Technical High School. An antique collector, he was very interested in Civil War History and enjoyed traveling and playing golf.
Mr. Meyer is survived by his wife of 52 years, Dorothy Dodson Meyer of Bel Air, MD; son, John P. Meyer and wife, Linda, of Sykesville, MD; daughter, Ellen Meyer Breidenbaugh and husband, Arnold Jr., of Sparks, MD; and four grandchildren, Benjamin, William, and Griffin Breidenbaugh, all of Sparks, MD and Kelsey Meyer of Sykesville, MD.
