Of Bel Air, Maryland; formally of Oradell, New Jersey and Brooklyn, New York. Beloved wife of 51 years to the late Laurence D. Miniter. Loving mother of Karen Patrick and her husband James; Roberta Cappiello and her husband Chris, all of Bel Air, Maryland. Gracious Nana of Andrew and Amy Patrick and Sean Patrick, of Bel Air, MD, Elizabeth and Brent Albright, of Nottingham, MD, Kirstin and Michelle Cappiello, of Bel Air, MD. Survived by her sister Helen Goff of New Port Ritchie, FL. Daughter of the late Arthur and Anna (nee: Wohlieb) Appleyard. Family and friends may visit on Monday, February 25th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, McComas Funeral Home, Bel Air, MD. Funeral Service at St. Ignatius Catholic Church – Hickory, Forest Hill, MD for a mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, February 26th at 10 a.m. Mrs. Miniter was an accomplished artist/painter in the media of oil on canvas and watercolors. She was a graduate of Fontbonne Hall Academy in Brooklyn, NY; studied at the Traphagen School of Design for Fashion Illustration in Brooklyn, NY; and a graduate of Montclair State University, Montclair, NJ. Mrs. Miniter was also a student and member of The Ridgewood Art Institute in Ridgewood, NJ. She has also been the recipient of several prestigious awards for her artwork spanning her career. She was a gifted singer and was a member of the Pro Arte Chorale of Newark, NJ. In 1969 Mrs. Miniter won a borough-wide competition in Oradell, NJ for the design of the Borough Seal. That seal is still used today on all town documents, town vehicles and police uniforms; an active member of the town's Book and Needle Club and was a resident there for 45 years. She loved to travel, making her last trip on the Queen Mary 2 this past summer.
