Luther P. Appel

LUTHER P. APPEL, age 80, of Street, MD, died on February 21, 2008 at his home. Born in Bradshaw, MD, he was the son of the late John Henry and Bertha Genevieve Mayes Appel. He was a WWII veteran who had served our country in the U.S. Army. He worked 29 years as a plasterer and 20 years for the State of Maryland as a stationery engineer. He was an avid reader and enjoyed working outside.

Mr. Appel is survived by his wife of 46 years, Shirley Jo Hall Appel of Street, MD; a brother, Jesse Eugene Appel of Bradshaw, MD; three sisters, Gloria Mona McCrane of Asheville, NC, Joyce Faith Letke of Bel Air, MD, and Moselle Annette Freund of Bel Air, MD; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, S. Joyce Appel, and two brothers, John Henry Appel and Hilary Hampton Appel.
