Lucille Dean Madry

October 30, 1926 — March 20, 2005

LUCILLE DEAN MADRY, of Churchville, died March 20, 2005 in the comfort of her son’s home. She was 78 years old. Lucille was born in Baltimore, MD to the late Cornelius Dean and Mattie Dean Winder, who later married Percy Winder of Long Green . She was one of eight children: Edna Ward of Baltimore, Cornelius Dean (deceased), William Archie Dean (deceased), Charles Dean (deceased), Maurice Dean (deceased), Dolores Ratliff (deceased), and Miriam Harris of Baltimore.

For fifty two years, she was the wife of the late Andrew E. Madry. She worked for the Harford County Sheriff’s Department until her retirement. She was affectionately known to everyone as “Lucy Girl” and she enjoyed cooking, Bingo, and playing cards. She was a member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church in Fallston and later attended Holy Temple Urban Connectional Church in Aberdeen. She also participated in the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Perryman and the American Legion in Aberdeen.

Mrs. Madry is survived by three sons, Cornelius (Andrew) Madry of White Marsh; Alvin (Shorty) Madry and his wife Conita of Havre de Grace; and Allan Edward Madry of Havre de Grace; two daughters, Mabel Laster of Edgewood; Cecelia (Tootie) Tolbert (deceased); and 15 grandchildren, Leticia Madry of Baltimore; Tina Madry of New York, NY; Jason Madry of Baltimore; Steffon Madry of Edgewood; Dr. Angela Robinson of Perryman; Brittany Madry of Baltimore; Ramona Sessoms of Edgewood; Michelle Ramsey of Perryman; LaToya Edwards of Perryville; Tomisa Madry of Baltimore; Teressa Madry of Perryman; Shirl (Jowanda) Dorsey of Essex; Lionell Phillip Tolbert, Jr. of New Orleans, LA; Charlene Johnson of New Orleans, LA; 13 great-grandchildren, and devoted sister-like friend, Shirley Spearin of Bel Air.
