Loy Brannon Heare

Loy Brannon Heare, age 85, of Joppa, MD, passed away on November 17, 2011 at Rock Spring Village in Forest Hill, MD. Born in Kirby, WV, he was the son of the late Robert Newton and Ella May Shank Heare and husband of the late Ava L. Cox Heare. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he was a machinist for Bethlehem Steel. He was a past member of Grandview Christian Church, Fork Christian Church and Mountain Christian Church, where he was active in Boy Scouts of America Troop #458.

Mr. Heare is survived by his son, Gerald Heare of Baltimore, MD; daughters, Pamela Meyers of Ellicott City, MD, Barbara Baldwin of Pylesville, MD, Virginia Knox of Shamong, NJ, Gloria Smith of Stewartstown, PA, Karen Carvell of Bel Air, MD and Donna Vest of Port Deposit, MD; brother, Robert Heare; sister, Lois Heatwole; and numerous step children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by six siblings and his second wife, Alice Lassiter Heare.
