Louise Cox Hoard, age 92, of Aberdeen, MD, died on June 9, 2010 at Harford Memorial Hospital in Havre de Grace, MD. Born in Independence, VA, she was the daughter of the late James A. and Effie C. Smith Isom and wife of the late Rev. William M. Hoard and the late Fred E. Cox. She worked 36 years for Quality Courts Hotel in Aberdeen where she was a housekeeping supervisor. She was a member of Edgewood Assembly of God where she was a very faithful servant and as Rev. Hoard said "She is as good as they get." She loved her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Hoard is survived by her sons, James Thornton and wife, Debbie, of Port Deposit, MD and Earl Cox and wife, Anna, of Aberdeen, MD; daughters, Janet Kelley of Aberdeen, MD and Patricia Hitchens and husband, Dan, of North East, MD; step-daughters, Patricia Pippen and husband, Carl, of Hopewell, VA and Joann Leatherland and husband, Earl, of Massena, NY; sister, Alice Brill of Rising Sun, MD; 17 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was predeceased by her sons, Junior Ronald Thornton and Raymond Dean Cox, and sisters, Nellie Fritz and Hattie Bourne.
