Louis J. Snowden

Louis J. Snowden, age 83, of Havre de Grace, Maryland passed away on March 2, 2023 at his home. Born in Dayton, Ohio, he was the son of Garrett and Lillie (Horn) Snowden and husband of the late Jacqueline Françoise (Gringuillard) Snowden. Louis was a military veteran who served on active duty in the United States Army for 29 years. He was a Sergeant Major at the time of his retirement from Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), where he last served in the U.S. Army Test and Evaluation Command (TECOM)’s Inspector General office. He also worked for the Army & Air Force Exchange Service on APG for many years.

Louis is survived by his daughter, Carole Marie Snowden; sons, Fabrice Robert Snowden and Louis Junior Snowden II; grandchildren, Michael Markley, Crystal (Miguel) Snowden, Laura (Chris) Thurston, Daniel Markley and Danielle Snowden; and great-grandchildren, King Turcios, Preston Markley, Lachlan Thurston and DeAngelo Brown.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Snowden.

Louis will be forever remembered for his kind spirit, integrity, love for God, country and family. His passion for photography, music, travel and oft-spoken gratitude for the many blessings of life will also be fondly remembered.
