Lorraine M. Haskins

Lorraine M. Haskins, age 86, of Forest Hill, MD, died on August 8, 2010 at Sunshine Acres in White Hall, MD. Born in Matoaka, WV, she was the daughter of the late Theodore Rosevelt Murphy and Alda Surface Sturgill. She retired, after 20 years, from APG-Edgewood Arsenal where she was a registered nurse. She also worked at Mariner Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center in Bel Air for several years following her retirement. An avid reader, she enjoyed playing bridge and traveling, having traveled to Europe, Africa, and extensively in the US. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Mrs. Haskins is survived by her daughter, Ann Bernard and husband, David, of St. Paul Park, MN; her son, Patrick D. Haskins and wife, Arlene, of Jarrettsville, MD; sister, Billie Brown of California, MD; brother, Ben Sturgill and wife, Rena, of Edgewood, MD; grandchildren, Michael Bernard and wife, Jessica, of St. Paul, MN, Derek Bernard and wife, Karen, of Cottage Grove, MN, and Alexander and Spencer Haskins of Jarrettsville, MD; and great-grandchildren, Bryce, Micah, and Matthew Bernard, all of Cottage Grove, MN. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Frank Eugene "Pat" Murphy; and brother-in-law, Marvin Brown.
