LORRAINE CARSON, age 79, of Edgewood, died in Levindale Hebrew Geriatric Center and Hospital, Baltimore on January 12, 2004. Born in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of the late Oscar Nelson and Florence Mae Taylor Ostrander. She worked in banking for 39 years. For 26 years she worked at Equitable Trust Company as a manager and retired in 1984. A resident of Harford County since 1962, she was a member of the National Association of Banking Women and the American Institute of Banking. She worked as a volunteer at the Harford Food Bank since 1999 and also volunteered at Forward Step. She was a charter member of the WW II Memorial Society. She served her country in the U.S. Navy during WWI as a pharmacist mate.
Mrs. Carson is survived by her husband of 52 years, William George Carson; one son, John Thomas Carson, Sr. and his fiancée, Connie Holbrook of Folsom, California; one sister, Eileen Westervelt of Baltimore; two grandchildren, Elizabeth Ann Carson; and John Thomas Carson, Jr. Also survived by nieces and nephews, Steve Westervelt of Glenn Arm; Jim Westervelt of Baltimore; Warren Westervelt of Manchester, MD; Cindy Harris of Orlando, Florida; Russ Van Westervelt of Towson.
