Loretta M. Mitchell

Loretta M. Mitchell, age 79, of Bel Air, MD passed away on February 2, 2012 at the Senator Bob Hooper House in Forest Hill, MD after a long struggle with Parkinson's Disease. Born in Fallston, MD, she was the daughter of the late William O. Lancaster and Bessie Edna Rose. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years Donald G. Mitchell. She was a 1949 graduate of Bel Air High School and enjoyed gardening, reading and traveling.

Mrs. Mitchell is survived by her daughter, Donna L. Newton and husband, Col. Charles B. Newton Jr., US Army (Ret.), of Goose Creek, SC; and her sister, Gertrude Shepard of Ft. Myers, FL, and nieces and nephews, Larry Lancaster, Sharon Taylor, Sheila Stancel, Debra Ohl, David C. Mitchell II, Kathy Rice, Karen Mitchell, and neighbor and special friend JoAnne Bonney. In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by her brother, Elmer Lancaster and sister, Thelma Isennock.
