Loretta Jean Miller

Loretta "Bette" Jean Miller, of Edgewood, MD, died at the age of 85 on December 16, 2016 at Brightview Assisted Living in Bel Air. She was born in Philadelphia, PA to Richard Conrad and Loretta C. (Toner) Adams and was the wife of the late Hoffman Rollins Smith Jr. and Raymond J. Miller. A resident of Harford County for 50 years, she retired from Harford County where she worked as an accountant. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church for 50 years, was a member of the NCO Club (Edgewood) since 1967, and volunteered with Harford Hospice for 15 years. Her passion, that she loved, was baking for everyone. Her specialties included Coffee Cake and Hot Milk Cake.

Survivors include her children, Emily "Lynn" Sweetland and husband, John, and David R. Smith; her grandson, Jeffrey P.R. Sweetland; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was predeceased by her brothers, Richard C. Adams Jr. and Robert H. Adams
