Lora King Bizich

September 15, 1915 — February 22, 2005

LORA KING BIZICH, age 89, of Abingdon, died at her home on February 22, 2005. Born in Sugar Grove, Virginia, she was the oldest of 10 children born to William Gilbert and Jenny Ardell Hall Parks. She was the wife for 7 years of the late Henry Howard King who was killed in WW II and she was the wife for 19 years to the late Nicholas Charles Bizich. A resident of Harford County for 56 years, she worked as a sales clerk at C-Mart. In 1949 she moved to Maryland with three small children and bought a 78 acre farm. She planted wheat, corn and tomatoes. For 50 years she was a member of Edgewood Assembly of God and was involved in the Women’s Ministries in her younger years. She was a team leader of the 4-H in Wilna.

Mrs. Bizich is survived by one son, Samuel Gene King of Hanover, Pennsylvania; three daughters, Doris King Johnson of Stewartstown, Pennsylvania; Joyce King Lamie of Marion, Virginia; Priscilla K. Bizich of Abingdon; one sister, Viola Parks Poff of Essex; eleven grandchildren, Timothy G. King of Hanover, PA; Tammy R. Forbes of Spring Grove, PA; Michael R. King of Kingsville; Michele D. King of Hanover, PA; Carl E. Johnson, Jr. of Abingdon; Sean D. Johnson of Dundalk; Malinda L. Porter of Port Deposit; Steven L. Johnson of Marion, VA; Rebecca A. Blevins of Marion, VA; April C. Blackburn of Essex; Nikki Dennis of Abingdon; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, two husbands, and eight brothers and sisters, she was predeceased by three grandchildren, Mark A. Johnson; Thomas R. Johnson, Jr.; and Beth Ann Lamie.


Pallbearers will be: Timothy G. King, Michael R. King, Carl E. Johnson, Jr., Sean D. Johnson, Luke A. Johnson, and Caleb M. Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be: Johnny Milholen and Ronnie Parks.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Edgewood Assembly of God Building Fund, 803 Edgewood Road, Edgewood, MD 21040.
