Lois Edwards Nagle

Lois Edwards Nagle, age 83, died peacefully on November 9, 2012. Lois grew up on the family farm in Forest Hill, Maryland, her parents Thomas L. and Pearl M. Edwards having migrated to the richer farmlands of Harford County from Sparta, NC. Lois lived most of her adult life in Bel Air and she loved Harford County. She dedicated many hours to local charitable causes and was a tireless political campaigner.

Lois' passion was bridge for which she held a life masters and was the source of many dear life-long friends. She was known to refuse admission to the hospital if it fell on her Wednesday bridge day. She also enjoyed a good game of golf, winters in Florida with her husband "Sparky", and trips abroad.

Lois was predeceased by her husband Howard Sheridan "Sparky" Nagle, and her siblings Clyde Choate, Nedra Graybeal, Pauline Moxley Crouse, and Charles Edwards. She is survived by her children Steven H. Nagle of Suisun City, CA and Jane L. Nagle of Bel Air, MD, and by her grandson Samuel F. Nagle, his wife Jordyn, and their daughter Pearl, of Portland, OR. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Nora Edwards, by many nieces and nephews, and by many friends.

Lois was a good-natured, spirited, and compassionate person and a loving wife and mother. Special thanks to the wonderful aides and nurses at Lorien who appreciated Lois' dry sense of humor and engaged her in playful banter.

Visitation with the family will be on Thursday, November 15th from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the McComas Funeral Home in Bel Air. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, November 16th at the Mt. Carmel Primitive Baptist Church in Fountain Green with Elder Steven W. Bloyd officiating. Reception will follow at Mt. Carmel. Burial will be private on the following day.
