Lloyd "Tom" Thomas Porter, age 84, of Bel Air, MD passed away on January 7, 2018 at the Senator Bob Hooper House in Forest Hill, MD. Born in Wilmington, DE, he was the son of Harold Porter and Gladys Naomi (Dawson) Hruby. He served his country in the Army National Guard for 38 years, retiring as a Master Sergeant. After retirement, he worked for CBIS where he tested military vehicles for several years. He worked at Edgewood Arsenal at the Weide Airfield, and was a member of the bowling league on base. He then worked for The Aegis making deliveries. He was a member of the Gunpowder Neck Marina for many years as well. He enjoyed woodworking and collecting Hess Trucks. He loved the water and also enjoyed spending time with his family at the beach.
Mr. Porter is survived by his wife of 33 years, Mary L. Porter; daughter, Lynn Burca of Rosedale; son, Scott Porter of Bel Air; brother, James "Jimmy" Porter of Taylor, SC; sister, Barbara Ritter of Baltimore; grandchildren, Annie, Jeremy, Daniel, Zachary, Britney, Teddy, and Shelby; and great-grandchildren, Julia, Seth, Brooklynn, Sam and Charleigh. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Cindy Keniston.
