Linda Ann Duncan, age 79, of Bel Air, Maryland passed away on December 27, 2024, surrounded by her family at Gilchrist Hospice @ GBMC in Towson, Maryland. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Emery Dunkle and Helen Rose (Shanberger) Dunkle.
Linda was a cherished member of the Bel Air Women's Club, St. Mark's Catholic Church, and the Red Hat Society. Family and friendships were her world. A loving and dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother, she spent over 60 wonderful years with her husband, Chester E. Duncan Jr. Linda devoted much of her time to her children and grandchildren, attending their sporting events and after-school activities. Her grandchildren brought her immense joy and kept her happily busy.
Her career began as a stay-at-home mom, taking care of her daughters. Upon returning to work outside the home, Linda worked as a legal secretary for over 20 years. After retiring later in life, she devoted her life to watching her grandchildren as they grew. She had a passion for reading romance novels, watching movies at the movie theater (loved horror), and traveling whenever possible (Ocean City Maryland, cruises, Spain, Italy to name a few).
Linda was a strong-willed, loving woman whose traits live on in her daughters. She and her husband dedicated much of their time to supporting various charities, reflecting her kind and generous nature. She loved watching sports (football – Ravens, soccer, lacrosse, basketball), but especially loved watching her children and grandchildren play those sports. Linda adored all animals, but her loyal dog Carly held a special place in her heart.
Linda is survived by her husband, Chester E. Duncan Jr.; two daughters, Deborah Duncan (Nosler) Young and Lisa A. White; and three grandchildren, Justin White, Samantha White, and Sean Nosler. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, William Dunkle.
Contributions may be made in Linda’s memory to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704 Hagerstown, MD 21741 or the Arthritis Foundation, 1355 Peachtree Street, Suite 600Atlanta, GA 30309.
