Lillian B. Zalenski, age 93, of Joppa, Maryland passed away on January 12, 2023 at her home. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Rudolph and Antoinette (Colucci) Impaciatore and wife of the late Robert Zalenski. Her previous marriage to the late Vito Sacco ended in divorce.
She was an alumnus of the first graduating class of Dundalk High School in 1947, and the Maryland College of Art. A “people” person, she followed a diverse career path, including dance studio instructor, front desk manager at the Holiday Inn, and product demonstrator in grocery stores. She enjoyed watching Orioles and Ravens games, discussing politics, and, until her health began to deteriorate, gathering friends wherever she went. First in her heart, though, was her family.
Lillian is survived by her son Ronald (Jane) Sacco; grandchildren, Michael Sacco, Sr. and Raymond Sacco, Sr.; great-grandchildren Michael Sacco. Jr., Raymond Sacco, Jr., Anthony Sacco, and Weston Sacco; fur babies Romeo and Bianca; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Massimo Impaciatore, and sisters Lucy Bickford and Elsa Tarasco.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or to an animal rescue organization of your choice, because as Lillian was fond of saying “there is no such thing as a bad dog or cat.”
