Leva M. Dixon

Leva Mae (Miller) Dixon, 93, of Bel Air, went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 24, 2014. Mrs. Dixon was born on March 23, 1920 to Charlie and Myrtle Miller in Annwalt, West Virginia. She married her husband, the late Reverend Willard Dixon, when she was fifteen and stood by his side for 71 years at the time of his passing in 2007. Their union was blessed with four children and many years of ministry.

Leva spend her days cooking, cleaning and serving the Lord by serving her family. She tended a large vegetable garden, even in her nineties, and canned countless jars of her famous green beans and other bounty each year. In the winter months, you could find her embroidering pillowcases, dresser scarves and other pretty things. She was a faithful prayer warrior, loved to read her Bible and attend church at Hickory Baptist Church where she was a member for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers, 2 sisters, her husband, and her eldest son, Robert Dixon. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter and caregiver, Edith Coale, her son Roger and his wife, Mary of Bel Air and her son Ronald and his wife, Susan of Riverview, Florida, seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren.
