Lester Gilbert Coen

Lester Gilbert Coen, age 81, of Aberdeen, MD, died on July 2, 2009 at Stella Maris Hospice in Timonium, MD. Born in Harford County, MD, he was the son of the late Wilton Rekord and Edith Lenora Gallion Coen and husband of the late Edna Vinson Coen. A life long resident of Aberdeen, MD, his joy in life was dairy farming, until 1965, on the family farm where Ripken Stadium is currently located. In his early years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing in Maine. He retired from Aberdeen Proving Ground a number of years ago. He adored all of the children in the family and was always truly concerned and compassionate towards others.

Mr. Coen is survived by his brother, Norman Chapman Coen of Aberdeen, MD; nephew, Gregory Kuester and his wife, Catherine, of Bel Air, MD; niece, Laurie Bullock and her husband, Reid, of Greenville, NC; and numerous family members in North Carolina. In addition to his parents and wife, he was also predeceased by a brother, George Wilton Coen and his sister, Dorothy Elizabeth Kuester.

Pallbearers were Kevin, Mike and Greg Kuester, Charles and Billy Vinson and Charles Vanney.
