Leroy H. Whitehead, age 78, of Jarrettsville, MD, died on October 7, 2009 at his home. Born in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Herbert Leroy and Thelma Mary Laucht Whitehead, and husband of the late Merle Tydings Whitehead. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served our country during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Acme Grocery Store where he was a meat manager. He was a past member of the American Legion in Bel Air, as well as, St. Matthews Lutheran Church, and was remembered for his wit and sense of humor.
Mr. Whitehead is survived by his son, William T. Whitehead of Jarrettsville, MD; daughters, Linda L. Stamper and husband, Michael, of Bel Air, MD and Sandy L. Barber and husband, Rodney, of Jarrettsville, MD; four grandchildren, Christy Fate, Kadie Stamper, Chad Stamper, and Steven Husak; and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Rodney Barber, Michael Stamper, Mark Barber, Michael Wright, Steven Husak, and Jessie Volk.
