Leo F. Crowder, 83, of Abingdon, MD, formerly of Edgewood, passed away on October 30, 2015 at his home. Born in Roanoke, VA, he was the son of the late Robert Lewis Crowder and Lucy Frances (Zell) Crowder. He served his country in the U.S. Army and worked at Aberdeen Proving Ground in the Motor Vehicle Department for about 30 years. After his retirement from APG, he worked for Kunkels Auto Parts for almost 20 years. He was a past member of Maple View Baptist Church where he headed up the Bus Ministry, was a current member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and had volunteered at Tabitha's House in Fallston for about five years. He enjoyed talking politics and religion and bringing out the best in people. He was a true family man and he and his wife had proudly fostered 20 children in 15 years. They were recipients of the Harford County's Most Beautiful People Award.
Mr. Crowder is survived by his wife, Margarette E. (Thomas) Crowder; son, Phillip Crowder of Forest Hill; daughter, Sandra Pace and her husband, Philip Pace, of Bel Air; stepchildren, Donald Wallis of Nottingham and Patrick Wallis of Bel Air; grandchildren, Robert Crowder, Noah Pace and Nathan Pace; and nine step-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his stepchildren, Douglas Wallis and Debbie Barnes; and his brothers, William, Edward, Kenneth and Eugene Crowder.
