Lenny Abrams

Leonard Aaron Abrams, age 82, of Joppatowne, MD died Saturday, August 5, 2006. He is survived by his wife Carol, sons John Vines of Maryland, Henny, Brian, Ron and Scott Abrams of Delaware; grandfather to Ashley and Brooke Abrams and Alex and Shaun Vines; sister Elaine Beuchler of New Jersey. In addition to his parents, Lenny was preceded in death by his son, Ricky Abrams.

Lenny served in the U.S. Navy and was a survivor of the South Pacific campaign during WWII. He had a distinguished career with the Federal Government retiring from the Test and Evaluation Command at Aberdeen Proving Ground with over 40 years of service.He was member of the Northeastern Maryland Officials Association, which kept him involved with youth and collegiate sports for over 55 years. He officiated football, basketball, volleyball, and swimming. In addition to officiating sports, Mr. Abrams spent many years coaching and mentoring children in youth sports.

Lenny enjoyed birdwatching as well as spending time with family and friends. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He will be deeply missed by all who came to know him.

Graveside services were held on Monday, August 7 in Vineland, New Jersery.
