LELA ALICE EVANS MARSH PROBST, age 83, of Bel Air, MD, died on May 19, 2008 at her home. Born September 29, 1924 on My Lady's Manor in Monkton, MD, she was the daughter of the late Grover Howard and Lela Evans Marsh. She married Eugene R. Probst on November 7, 1942. They moved to Eva-Mar Farm in Fountain Green, where she has lived ever since, maintaining the farm operation and which became a home to dozens of cats, flocks of wild geese, ducks, and peacocks. After employment with the Federal Government at Edgewood Arsenal, she went to work for BGE in the customer service department, retiring October 1, 1984 after 39 years of service. Known as "Punky" to her many, many friends and "adopted" children, she was a fan of NASCAR. She enjoyed live music, theater, and dining out, especially trips to Willow Valley, the Corn Wagon, and the Pennsylvania Dutch Country.
Mrs. Probst is survived by her husband, Eugene R. Probst of Bel Air, MD; members of the Probst family; and generations of loving family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Geneva "Peggy" Williams.
Pallbearers will be Ralph B. Ball, Ken H. Probst, Wilmer Espershade, John L. Probst, Don M. Probst, and Dave Miller.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Harford County Humane Society, 2208 Connelly Road, Fallston, MD 21047.
