Lawrence (Babe) Cameron Gorrell, 92, of Bel Air, died October 5, 2011, with his family by his side at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Sara (Sibby) Gorrell and Mary (Audrey) Gorrell. Born in Bel Air, he was the son of the late Harry and Leonora Gorrell. He was a well-known dairy farmer for years in Harford County. After retiring from farming, he and his late wife Audrey moved to Sebring, FL and built a home at the Sun and Lake Golf Estates where they enjoyed golfing and traveling. He was also one of the original members of the Winters Run Golf Course in Bel Air.
Mr. Gorrell is survived by his children, Pat Reith of Bel Air, Nancy Robinson and her husband, Jim of Laurel; stepchildren, Barbara Filler Harris and her husband, Richard of Churchville and Robert Filler and his wife, Terri of Baltimore; grandchildren, Jackie Childress of Bel Air, Cindy Rudolph and her husband, Tom of Bel Air, Lynn George and her husband, Ricky of Valdosta, GA, Beth Hayden of Norman Park, GA and Rebecca and Michael Filler of Baltimore; and 12 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother Harry Frederick Gorrell and sister Florence (Sis) Ward.
Serving as pallbearers are Jim Robinson, Tom Rudolph, Dustyn Rudolph, Jaysen McCook, Darien Irby and Mike Murphy.
