Laura Jane Busch, 92, of Churchville, MD passed away unexpectedly on September 7, 2017 at her home. Born in Springfield, MA, she was the daughter of Newton Beebe and Anna Elizabeth (Bullinger) Whitaker and was the wife of the late Edwin Arnold Busch.
Laura moved to Albany in the late 1940's to work as a linotype operator for the newspaper where she also met her future husband. She was a Title 1 reading aide in Ligonier, PA in addition to being a stay at home mom. She was a voracious reader, a masterful speller and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. She loved playing the organ and was truly gifted as she only played by ear. She played golf, cards - a day and night bridge group in the Bel Air area where she always had a lot of laughs, spending time with her lunch bunch friends, watching birds in her backyard, spending time with her grand-dogs and watching the Orioles. She was also her late husband's best first mate on all of his boats. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Busch is survived by two daughters, Susan E. Busch of Gaithersburg, MD and Robin L. Busch of Forest Hill, MD.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Dorothy Cowles, Ralph Whitaker, Raymond Whitaker and Jean Heady.
