Larry Mack Sheetz, age 79, of Bel Air, Maryland passed away on August 20, 2022. Born in Havre de Grace, Maryland, he was the son of Mack Sheetz and Grace Sheetz of Churchville, Maryland. Larry joined the Maryland National Guard in 1964 and then was employed full time as an Automotive Technician. He served for 38 years and retired as CW4.
He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and served as an usher and enjoyed serving church luncheons. Larry loved dogs but especially the six Beagles that he had over a period of 37 years. He was always a lover of old cars and owned two classics, a 1967 fully restored Camaro and a 1972 original Pontiac. He enjoyed going to car shows and meeting fellow enthusiasts.
Larry was an exceptionally gifted baseball player and between high school and American Legion teams, he set many records as a pitcher. His love of baseball continued when he coached his son Jason in Little League. He had a gift of teaching kids the fundamentals of baseball but also entertained the players by showing them tricks and making it fun.
Larry loved gardening and had a gift of creating beautiful gardens at his home and were admired by many.
Larry is survived by his wife of 55 years, Nancy Mills Sheetz; son, Jason and his wife, Leslie of Delta, PA; brother, Samuel and wife, Carol of Havre de Grace; nephew, Erik of Macungie, PA; and niece, Jenna Testerman of North East.
