Larry Downing

Larry Downing, age 83, of Joppa, Maryland passed away on March 27, 2022 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, Maryland. He was the loving husband of Carolyn (Otremba) Downing for 37 years and the son of Margaret (Mitchell) and Joseph Downing. He enjoyed being a photographer and working outside, tending the lawn and gardens with his wife. In earlier years, he enjoyed playing golf with his colleagues, family, and friends. He was very active as a Red Cross apheresis blood donor, totaling over 200 donations and received many awards from the Red Cross over the years. He loved technology and keeping up with the latest advancements. Larry was a traveler, adventuring domestically and internationally with the light of his life, Carolyn.

In addition to his wife, Larry is survived by his daughters, Debbie Ladd, Terry Torrens; grandchildren, Justin Ladd, Colleen (Jon) Stephens, Anthony Silveira, Jacob Torrens; great-granddaughter, Harper Silveira; brothers, Doug Downing (deceased), Bob Downing, Roger Downing, Bruce Downing (deceased); sister, Joan Downing (deceased); brother-in-law, Edward (MaryLou) Otremba; nephew, Brian Otremba; niece, Sharon Otremba; and great-niece, Josie Otremba.
