Larry Alan Cross, age 56, of Joppatowne, MD, died on June 17, 2010 at his home. Born in East Derry, NH, he was the son of David Hurley and Alice Marie Haggett Cross. He was Vice President at the J. Gibson McIlvain Company in White Marsh, MD for 18 years, purchasing and selling high end and exotic woods. Per owner, Gib McIlvain, "Larry was the most knowledgeable person in the hardwood lumber industry this company has ever known. He traveled extensively in Africa, South America and in the U.S., and was held in high regard and deeply loved for his sense of humor, knowledge, and love of people. We have received condolences from his many business friends on three continents." He enjoyed family and friends, working with wood, hunting and fishing, and playing golf.
In addition to his parents, Larry is survived by his wife of 4 years, Catherine (Blevins) Cross; sons, Zachary Cross of NH and Ted Roosevelt Weeks III of Street, MD; brothers, Donald Cross and wife, Linda, of FL and David Cross and wife, Jean, of NH; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Zachary Cross, Donald Cross, Michael Cross, David Cross, Robert Meaney, David Eugene Cross, Andrew Thomas Cross and Paul Blevins.
