KEVIN PATRICK YOUNG, age 50, of Bel Air, died on Christmas Evening, December 25, 2002. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he was the son of William John Young of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and the late Mary Patricia Murphy Young. A project manager for Verizon Communications, he was very dedicated to his job achieving great accomplishments. His career spanned 28 years with Verizon. His most recent position was a manager- Strategic Systems Planning for the Verizon Online and Broadband business unit. He directed a team responsible for defining a comprehensive recommendation to implant next generation service management operations support systems. His career path included positions of increasing responsibility in information systems, Engineering and Operations, plus a rotational assignment at Telcordia Technologies (formerly Bellcore). Kevin, a graduate from LaSalle University, also earned an MBA from both LaSalle and George Washington University. He was active with the Hickory/ Fountain Green Baseball and Soccer teams, enjoyed college gymnastics at Ursinus College, and traveling the country. He loved Christmas and spending time with his family. He also loved visiting and vacationing at the New Jersey shore.
In addition to his father, Mr. Young is survived by his wife of 27 years, Peggy Murray Young, one son, Brendan Young of Bel Air; three daughters, Shannon M. Young of Feasterville, Pennsylvania; Bridget A. Young of Bel Air; Casey M. Young of Bel Air; two brothers, Brian Young of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Francis Young of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and one sister, Maureen Kundla of Elkins Park, Pennsylvania.
Pallbearers were: Tiernan Kundla, Brian Murray, Kevin Kundla, Francis Young, Dan Murray, and Billy Young. Honorary pallbearers were: Brendan Young and Sean Young.
