Kevin R. Banigan, age 67, of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away peacefully at home on December 13, 2023. He was born in Troy, New York, to the late James and Nancy (Chamberlin) Banigan.
A devoted family man and proud veteran, Kevin served his country with honor in the U.S. Army. In 2011, he received the Army Award for Valor for his actions following a tragic test incident. Kevin worked at Aberdeen Proving Ground for 38 years, retiring as Range Engineer. He was an active member of the John Archer PTA where he served as president, and was the chairman for the Mayday fundraiser committee for 10 years. He also was a member of the Bel Air American Legion, where he served in the color guard for an impressive 30 years. Kevin's dedication extended to leadership, as he served as Commander of the Color Guard for 26 years.
In addition to his military and community service, Kevin cherished moments on the Chesapeake Bay, indulging his love for boating and fishing. His greatest joy was spending quality time with his family, especially with his daughters and grandchildren.
Kevin is survived by his daughters, Carrie (Joshawa) Hodges and Christine Banigan; his dear friend, Cheryl Banigan; and his cherished grandchildren, Finnegan, and Piper Hodges. He is also survived by his brothers, James, Michael, Steven, Mark, and B. Tim Banigan.
