Kermit M. Stong, age 77, of Aberdeen, MD, passed away on October 20, 2014 at University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, MD. Born in Petersburg, PA, he was the son of the late Charles and Nellie Mierley Stong. He taught middle school science for Baltimore County Public Schools where he served for 30 years. He was a leader in his Christian Bible Study and was a rockhound who enjoyed archeology.
Mr. Stong is survived by his wife of 50 years, Carol Ann Grant Stong; son, David C. Stong and his wife, Heather, of Aberdeen; daughter, Karen S. Swingler and her husband, David Jr., of Bel Air; and grandchildren, Brandon Hinchy, Kaitlin Stong and Lauren Swingler. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Maynard Charles Stong and sister, Marcia Rishel.
