Kenneth L. Zimmerman Sr.

Kenneth L. Zimmerman Sr., age 87, of Edgewood, MD, died on May 8, 2011 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. Born in Windber, PA, he was the son of the late Freeman Zimmerman Sr. and Ruth Marsh Zimmerman, and husband of the late Jean L. Holcomb Zimmerman. A veteran of the U.S. Marines, he retired, after 30 years, from Bethlehem Steel where he was a train engineer. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post in Joppatowne where he served as the past Commander. A charter member of the Venetian Palace Breakfast Club, he was a Red Cross volunteer for MS Bowling in Perry Hall.

Mr. Zimmerman is survived by his son, Kenneth L. Zimmerman Jr. of Leesburg, FL; daughter, Joanne R. Leach of Joppa, MD; brothers, Freeman Zimmerman Jr. of Fallston, MD and Ronald Zimmerman of Bel Air, MD; sister, Betty Ream of Johnstown, PA; grandchildren, Chad Zimmerman of Abingdon, MD, Chris Arlington of Edgewood, MD, and Stacey Zimmerman of Racine, WI; and great-grandchildren, Christian Jenkins of Abingdon, MD and Maddie Clark of Edgewood, MD.
