Ken Henning, age 91, of Bel Air, MD passed away on July 20, 2018 at Greenfield Senior Living in Bel Air. Born in Joppa, MD, he was the son of George and Gertrude Henning. He was a veteran of the U.S. Merchant Marines where he served his country during WWII. He also served 15 years with the Army National Guard. He retired in 1986, after 39 years of service, as the Chief of Boiler Plants with Aberdeen Proving Ground, and was a part-time real estate agent with Bill Cox. He was a founding member and past chief of Joppa Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company, Edgewood Lions Club, Harford County Democratic Party, and a Founding and Lifetime member of the Otter Point Yacht Club. He was an avid hunter and boater.
Mr. Henning is survived by his wife of 69 years, Esther Marie (Kelbaugh) Henning; daughter, Linda Ey and husband, Mark of Abingdon; two granddaughters, Chloe Ey and Lauren Ey; brother, Richard Henning of Bel Air; and sister, Ruth Hott of Towson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth D. Henning; and sister, Dorothy Guercio.
