Kathy Marie Goforth

Peacefully, and with her mother at her side, Kathy Marie Goforth passed away on March 25th, 2024, at the age of 54 after a 3-year battle with stomach disease.

Kathy was born on December 13, 1969, to her loving parents William and Marcia Goforth in Hereford, Texas. Despite moving a lot due to her father’s job in the army, she always considered herself a Texas girl at heart. She graduated from Edgewood High School in 1988 and would go on to work as an Administrative Assistant at Johns Hopkins.

Over the course of her life, she fostered a deep love for country music and line dancing and could often be found at the Cancun Cantina where she would meet Bart Hoffstein, with whom she would have one child, Savanah Hoffstein, in 2001. She was an incredibly devoted mother and was a Stay at Home Mom for much of her life. 

Kathy had a love in her heart for everyone she came across. She always had time for her friends and would go to the ends of the earth to help people when they needed it. She was thoughtful, patient, and always knew how to make people laugh. Kathy was also a woman of many interests, she loved pool, dancing, and gardening. She loved dragonflies and sunflowers, and her favorite time of year was Christmas.

Kathy survived the impossible more times than could be counted due to her incredibly strong and fierce spirit, constantly talking about how she refused to give up. She will be remembered by all who knew her as a fighter. 

She will forever remain in the hearts of her parents Marcia and William, her daughter Savanah, her sisters Karol and Sheri, and her many nieces and nephews.
