Kathryn Ann Trenery, age 98, of Bel Air, Maryland passed away on April 21, 2020 at Senator Bob Hooper House in Forest Hill, Maryland. Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, she was the daughter of James Joseph and Helen (Maloney) Herbert and wife of the late Raymond Edward Trenery.
Kathryn, or “Miss Kitty” is survived by her daughter, Barbara "Bobbie" Bingham, and husband Jeffrey; son, Michael C. Trenery and wife Sara; and four grandchildren, Kathryn “Kate” Callahan, Tracy Becker, Megan Trenery, and Erin Trenery.
Miss Kitty lived over the better part of a century. She witnessed decades of time that many of us understand only through history books – and as the world evolved over the last century, she gracefully evolved with it. The stories of her work as a secretary on Wall Street in the 1940s; of how and where she met her husband, Raymond; of what it was like to relocate her family to Maryland in the 1960s; and of her resilience and perseverance for her children and grandchildren after the loss of her husband in 1980 – each of those stories are held closely in the hearts of her family.
Who Miss Kitty was, and who she became through every phase of her 98-year evolution was a gift to anyone who was lucky enough to cross her path.
She was a devout Catholic, never missing mass, even if she needed to go to mass on the television. She regularly donated to a long list of charitable causes, and she cared about the world around her. Miss Kitty loved The Baltimore Orioles, bowling, games of Bridge with her friends, and travelling in her later years. Perhaps more than anything, though, Miss Kitty took an enormous amount of pride in her home. She loved to clean more than was imaginable, and she cared for her home in the same way she cared for her family – with enormous pride, love, and protection.
If desired contributions may be made in her memory to Senator Bob Hooper House, Gilchrist Hospice, or Bark Nation.
