Kathleen Renee Treon

Kathleen (Kathy) Renee Treon, age 75, of Bel Air, Maryland passed away on November 27, 2022, at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, after suffering an irreversible hemorrhagic stroke on Thanksgiving Eve. She was surrounded by her loving family as she prepared for her three-day journey to heaven.

Kathy was born on November 21, 1947, to Victor and Clara (Miller) Schuck in Shamokin, Pennsylvania. Her father passed away when she was 12 years old, so it was her and her mother tackling life until her mom’s passing in 1989. She called Bel Air “home” but stayed very connected to her Shamokin roots visiting at least once a year to tidy up her mother’s grave and to have fun with her family at Knoebels Amusement Resort. Her dedication to her mother and her love for her family were beyond measure.

Kathy graduated in 1965 from Our Lady of Lourdes Regional High School in Coal Township, Pennsylvania. She professed to be an All-Star basketball player during those years often laughing about the uniforms of that day compared to today. She also wore mascara and, of course, lipstick to school which put the nuns in a tizzy on more than one occasion but Kathy, without lipstick, was like the Catholic church without a pope. There was no such thing.

Kathy met her husband, Robert (Bob), shortly after graduating from high school. She elected not to go to college and focused instead on sweeping Bob off of his feet. They were married in 1967 and moved to Maryland as Bob pursued his love of teaching with Kathy by his side. To say this union was the start of something so incredibly beautiful is an understatement. This love proved to be an example to so many as they began to build their family while continuously adding friends to their extended family since neither of them had any siblings. Kathy never met a stranger and all who know her will forever be loved by her and our family.

Kathy and Bob have two daughters, Stacey Lynn Treon-Byrnes and Keren Renee Lamb. They are also the proud grandparents of five granddaughters, Olivia Renee Lamb (19), Maggie Noel Lamb (16), Camryn Nicole Treon Sapp (15), Kaylin Nicole Byrnes (15) and Elena Sofia Jara (7). Kathy cherished all of her girls but was so excited when Matthew Edward Byrnes, her beloved son-n-law, and Tucker and Bruce, her beloved canine friends, joined male forces with her husband in an attempt to balance out the numbers not to mention the emotions. Family was absolutely everything to Kathy and she will be at the very center of ours, always.

Kathy lit up every room with her infectious smile and her tremendous warmth. She was the most joyful person you will ever know likely because she was a direct extension of Jesus. She was absolutely dedicated to our Lord, read devotionals every day, and had a faith so strong that it provided strength to all who directly witnessed and needed. She was always the family’s biggest cheerleader, excited about everything and looking forward to all of life’s adventures. Her absence will be deeply and profoundly felt by all who were fortunate to know her.

Everyone Kathy knows is an extension of her family and we wish to make this temporary goodbye as intimate and connected to her as possible.
