Kathleen Minacapelli

Kathleen L. Minacapelli, age 69, of Forest Hill, Maryland, passed away on April 11, 2023, at University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland. Born in Baltimore City, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Jerome J. and Katherine M. (Morrow) Snier.

Kathleen is survived by her husband, Charles P. Minacapelli; son, Nicolas Minacapelli; daughter, Jessica M. Miele and her husband, Christian J. Miele; grandsons, Theodore A. Miele and Gavin J. Miele; and sisters, Carol A. Dickson and Patricia L. Burton.

She married Charles, her high school sweetheart, in 1975, and later attended the Maryland Institute College of Art, which prepared her for a fruitful and rewarding career in graphic design. In 1994, Kathleen and Charles launched Sequel Design Associates, a successful family-owned business where Kathleen’s passion for creative design was on full display for their many clients.

Kathleen loved spending long weekends at the beach house in Ocean City with friends and family and watching the sun set at Fager’s Island. She could never say no to a Twizzler or resist ordering fried green tomatoes whenever they were on the menu. But nothing quite spelled relaxation to Kathleen like a nice glass of wine. Her favorite movie—at least in the summer months—was Jaws and Kathleen could recite just about every line from National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. “You serious, Clark?!”

She answered to many names: Kath, Kathy, Lou, Mom, and Masha. But perhaps the nickname (and role) she cherished most was MoMo as grandmother to Theo and Gavin. Kathleen’s kind spirit, infectious smile, and unforgettable laugh will live on in the lives of those she touched, as will the love she poured into her marriage, her children, her grandchildren, and her many friendships.

There will be a visitation from 2–4 p.m.at McComas Family Funeral Home in Bel Air on Monday, April 17, with a memorial service immediately following. Sympathy flowers may be delivered directly to the funeral home.
