Kathleen Mccaul Kelly

Kathleen McCaul Kelly of Bel Air, MD, formerly of Toms River, NJ, passed away peacefully at her home at Awakenings with her children by her side on July 26th. She is predeceased by her husband John, her parents John and Annie, her siblings: Mary, Nan, Margaret, Ita, Rose, Peter and Gerald. She is survived by her siblings John and Bridget; her children: John Kelly of Brooklyn, NY, Stephen Kelly of Brooklyn, NY, Mary Kelly of Edgewood, MD, Mike and Tara Amabile of Bel Air, MD, 3 grandchildren and over 60 nieces and nephews.

Kathleen was one of ten children, born and raised in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland. She came to America where she attended Fordham University and worked in advertising. After marrying John, they settled in Toms River, NJ where they raised their family and lived for over 50 years.

After raising her children, she was a home care nurse for over 20 years. She was an active parishioner of St. Joseph Church. Kathleen was full of wit and wisdom, had a keen ability to tell stories and an amazing sense of humor. She enjoyed gardening, knitting Irish sweaters, crossword puzzles and maintaining their several acres of land. She was also an avid sports fan, which included cheering on the sidelines of her children’s and grandchildren’s games as well as a big fan of Notre Dame Football and the NY Yankees. Kathleen felt very blessed with wonderful friends, family and neighbors.
