Katherine Ratych

Katherine Ratych, age 93, of Glen Arm, Maryland passed away on October 2, 2021 at Stella Maris Hospice in Timonium, Maryland. Born in Steinbach, Germany, she was the daughter of Josef and Maria (Selmeier) Maerkl and wife of the late Eugene Roman Ratych.

Katherine is survived by her sons, Dr. Roman Eugene Ratych of Fallston and Mark Theodore Ratych of Rockville; daughters, Margaret Katherine Fisher of Kentucky and Irene Maria Clifton of Virginia; grandsons, Matthew Green, Brian Green, Jeffrey Smith, Peter Smith and Timothy Smith; sister, Maria Moos; and brother, Adolf Maerkl.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Sebastian, Andreas, Xavier, Konrad, Paul and Wast Maerkl and granddaughter, Jennifer Smith.
